Australia’s CPI inflation rate is anticipated to ease in November
Upcoming Release of Australia’s Monthly CPI Data
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is set to release November’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) figures at 00:30 GMT on Wednesday. This marks only the second time the monthly CPI has been fully reported, as authorities shift from using quarterly CPI data to the monthly version as the main indicator of headline inflation.
Despite this transition, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) has indicated a preference for the quarterly CPI numbers, citing their greater reliability in tracking inflation patterns, since the monthly data can show considerable fluctuations, according to Reuters.
Investors and analysts are closely monitoring this inflation update, as it could play a crucial role in shaping the RBA’s upcoming decisions on interest rates.
