French consumer spending on goods fell in November 2025 (-0.3% following a +0.5% increase)

During November 2025, households spent less on goods compared to the previous month, with overall volumes dropping by 0.3% following a 0.5% increase in October (according to revised figures).
Energy-related expenses saw a notable decrease of 2.0%, reversing the growth of 1.5% recorded in October. This reduction was largely due to diminished usage of both gas and electricity, as well as lower spending on petroleum products.
Food purchases also edged downward by 0.2%, after a slight rise of 0.3% in the prior month. In contrast, spending on manufactured goods picked up pace, increasing by 0.4% after a modest 0.1% gain in October.
