According to information provided to FOX Business by administration insiders, President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet this week with Rick Rieder, BlackRock’s global chief investment officer for income, as a possible candidate for the next Federal Reserve chair. The meeting is set for Thursday at the White House and will be attended by Trump, chief of staff Susie Wiles, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, and deputy chief of staff Dan Scavino.
This discussion marks the fourth and final interview in the process to select a successor for current Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, whose term concludes on May 15.
