Wheat Market Update: Mixed Results on Tuesday
Wheat futures ended Tuesday's session with varied outcomes. Spring wheat showed resilience, while Kansas City contracts experienced the most significant declines. Chicago SRW futures saw slight to modest losses in the nearby contracts by the close. Kansas City HRW futures finished the day with losses ranging from 6 to 7 ¼ cents. In contrast, Minneapolis spring wheat contracts edged up by fractions to 2 cents in the front months.
According to NOAA's latest 7-day outlook, the Southern Plains are expected to receive minimal rainfall in the coming week, while the SRW region may see only light precipitation.
Global Wheat Export Insights
IKAR has revised its forecast for Russia's wheat exports in the 2025/26 season to 46.5 million metric tons, an increase from the previous estimate of 44.1 million. Meanwhile, data from the European Commission indicates that wheat exports from July 1 to January 11 reached 11.6 million metric tons, slightly behind last year's 11.8 million for the same period.
