Robotics software developer Skild AI reaches a $14 billion valuation
Skild AI Achieves Major Valuation Leap
Skild AI, a company specializing in foundational models for robotics, has seen its valuation soar to over three times its previous figure in less than a year.
According to Bloomberg, the startup has secured $1.4 billion in Series C funding, pushing its valuation past $14 billion. SoftBank led the investment, with participation from Nvidia, Macquarie Group, 1789 Capital, and additional backers.
Just last summer, Skild AI was valued at $4.5 billion after its previous funding round, as reported by Bloomberg. While the company has not publicly shared the exact amount raised in that round—rumored to be around $500 million—CEO Deepak Pathak revealed to Bloomberg that Skild AI’s total fundraising now exceeds $2 billion.
TechCrunch has reached out to Skild AI for further details on its investment history and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
About Skild AI
Established in 2023, Skild AI develops versatile robotic software and foundational models that can be integrated into a wide range of robots and tasks, minimizing the need for extensive retraining. These models are designed to learn by observing human actions, aiming to make robots more adaptable and efficient.
The robotics industry has recently seen a surge in interest for adaptive, self-learning software, especially as excitement grows around humanoid robots.
Challenges and Opportunities in Robotics
One of the main obstacles to widespread robot adoption—both in homes and industries—is the significant training required for each new task. Enabling robots to learn and adjust on the fly could dramatically accelerate their integration into everyday life and work environments.
