Construction production in Great Britain: November 2025
Construction Output Experiences Notable Decline
Between September and November 2025, overall construction activity dropped by 1.1%, marking the most significant decrease since March 2023, when output fell by 1.4%. During this three-month span, both new construction projects and repair and maintenance activities saw reductions of 1.0% and 1.1%, respectively.
Among the nine construction sectors, four reported declines over this period. The most substantial negative impact came from private housing repair and maintenance, which contracted by 3.7%.
Looking at monthly figures, construction output slipped by 1.3% in November 2025. This followed a revised decrease of 1.2% in October and a 0.3% drop in the preceding month.
