The Bolivian Boliviano (BOB), the national currency of Bolivia, plays a pivotal role in the country's economy. The current version of the Boliviano was introduced in 1987, during a period of rampant inflation, at a rate of 1 new Boliviano = 1,000,000 old pesos.
