What is Fragmetric (FRAG)?

Fragmetric (FRAG) started as Solana’s first main protocol that allows users to easily restake their assets, making them more flexible. Over time, it has developed into a new standard called FRAG-22, which manages different types of assets and rewards more precisely. This new system makes it easier for developers and users to work with advanced decentralized finance (DeFi) strategies, like earning yields from various sources all in one place.

Fragmetric launched in October 2024. Its main goal is to help make Solana more decentralized—meaning more people control and participate in the network—while ensuring everyone involved benefits fairly in the restaking process.

How does Fragmetric (FRAG) work?

Fragmetric’s FRAG-22 protocol

FRAG-22 is a special protocol created by Fragmetric to turn its users' assets into digital tokens—called tokenization—making it easier to manage and use them across different DeFi services. At first, FRAG-22 was used mainly for liquid restaking—where staked assets can be reused, but now it does much more than that. It supports different types of assets, offers flexible reward sharing, and allows users to earn from a variety of yield strategies beyond simple staking.

The core steps in how it works are:

● Deposit and Minting: You deposit supported tokens and receive the corresponding fragAssets in return.

● Reward Tracking and Claiming: Your rewards are carefully tracked and distributed.

● Yield Optimization: The system automatically optimized across yield sources to earn more yields.

● Unstake and Withdraw: When you want, you can easily exchange your fragAssets back to your original tokens and withdraw them.

All these steps are designed to be transparent and efficient, helping users get the most value from their assets.

FRAG token

Recently, Fragmetric announced the upcoming release of its own token, called FRAG. This token is an important step for the project because it allows the community to have a say in how the protocol develops and makes decisions.

Here’s a quick overview:

● The FRAG token has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens. No new tokens will be created.

● Currently, about 202 million FRAG tokens are in circulation.

● People who hold FRAG can stake their tokens to participate in making key decisions about the protocol, like changing rules or distributing rewards.

● How long you stake your tokens affects your voting power—meaning longer stakes give you more influence.

● Staking FRAG also helps you earn special points called F Points, which will be useful in future campaign seasons to earn even more benefits.

Fragmetric's Terminology

F Points: These are points you earn when you deposit assets into Fragmetric. F Points may be used later for airdrops from Fragmetric.

Fragmetric’s Pool: This is the collection of all assets deposited by users. The pool mainly holds SOL tokens, some of which are converted into Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) like JitoSOL and BNSOL. Most of these assets are restaked and delegated to different services, which helps generate extra rewards.

Restaking: Restaking means using your already staked assets to stake again in other places. This process can earn you extra rewards and helps improve the overall health and efficiency of the network. When you restake, you choose which service or validator to trust, depending on your risk preference.
