NVIDIA refuses to exploit customers; Jensen Huang: Graphics cards are reasonably priced and will never be raised opportunistically.
Glonghui, April 18th – According to Kuai Technology, whether it's gaming cards or AI cards, NVIDIA's graphics cards currently hold the largest market share, accounting for over 90% of the market, with no real competitors. As NVIDIA's graphics cards have become hot commodities, some are wondering if NVIDIA will leverage this position for certain business practices. For example, when AI graphics cards are in short supply, could some companies use their spending power to buy at higher prices and gain priority access? In a well-known podcast interview with Dwarkesh Patel, Dwarkesh asked if NVIDIA would sell its products to the highest bidder when GPUs are scarce. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang also responded to their pricing strategy, saying they would not do this. Jensen Huang stated that NVIDIA never allocates graphics cards through bidding wars; this is not NVIDIA's style. What they do is set a reasonable price, and the customer decides whether to purchase or not.He also denied the possibility of raising prices opportunistically, stating that while other chip companies might do this, NVIDIA would never act this way. They aim to be the cornerstone that the entire industry can trust, and customers never need to worry or speculate whether NVIDIA will take advantage of the situation.
