The U.S. government is in discussions with energy companies regarding potential increases in oil and gas production.
Golden Ten Data reported on April 17 that, according to Reuters, a U.S. government official stated that, amid rising global energy prices caused by the Iran war, the heads of the U.S. Department of the Interior and Department of Energy will hold a conference call on Thursday local time with the CEOs of energy companies such as ExxonMobil and Chevron to discuss their potential to increase oil and natural gas production. Oil prices are recovering to levels seen after the 2022 Russia-Ukraine conflict, which poses a risk for Trump's Republican colleagues in the November midterm elections. The conference call is organized by the White House.
