Experts say it is not impossible for Trump to impose separate tariffs on eight European countries.
Trade analysts have warned that if Trump imposes separate tariffs on Denmark, Sweden, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland, Norway, and the United Kingdom, European companies could face a significant administrative burden. Sam Lowe, Head of Trade at Flint Global, stated that although six of these countries are EU member states and their trade agreements are collectively negotiated by the EU, it is technically possible for the US to impose tariffs on exporters from these countries individually, and there is already precedent for the US imposing tariffs on individual member states.

Ethereum founder Vitalik supports advancing native Rollup solutions
PANews reported on January 19 that Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin stated that he now "clearly supports" native rollups (EIP-8079) more. He mentioned that his previous opposition was mainly because native rollup precompiles required choosing between "zk mode" and "optimistic mode." In the early days, ZK-EVM was immature, so project teams tended to choose solutions with a 2-7 day withdrawal period but secured by Ethereum, which harmed Ethereum's composability. Now, the timeline for Ethereum to adopt ZK at L1 is basically aligned with the timeline for adding native rollup precompiles, so this concern has been alleviated. Vitalik also emphasized that precompiles should be carefully designed so that rollups with "EVM + a few features" can use unified precompiles and come with provers for the new features.
