Corn Futures End Slightly Lower
On Tuesday, corn futures were unable to maintain their midday momentum, ultimately closing with small losses ranging from fractions of a cent to 2 cents lower. The CmdtyView national average cash price for corn edged up by 1 3/4 cents, settling at $4.08 ½.
Export commitments for corn have reached 50.538 million metric tons, marking a 30% increase over the same period last year. This figure represents 62% of the USDA’s full-year projection, surpassing the typical 60% pace for this point in the marketing year.

The EIA is scheduled to release new data on Monday, with expectations pointing to ethanol production remaining steady or possibly seeing a slight decrease for the week ending last Friday.
According to Brazil’s trade ministry, corn exports in December totaled 6.128 million metric tons, representing a 43.6% jump compared to the previous year and a 21.75% increase from November’s figures.
