Tom Lee: Bitcoin may surpass $100,000 by the end of the year
Jinse Finance reported that BitMine Chairman Tom Lee appears to have scaled back his previously aggressive prediction that “bitcoin will reach $250,000 by the end of this year.” Now, he has only given a “maybe,” suggesting that bitcoin could possibly return to its historical high of $125,100 from October by the end of the year. In an interview on Wednesday, Lee stated: “I think it is still very possible for bitcoin to surpass $100,000 by the end of the year, and maybe even set a new all-time high.” This seems to be the first time Lee has publicly softened his year-end $250,000 target for bitcoin. He initially made this prediction earlier in 2024 and maintained it until early October. Lee’s forecast is one of the more aggressive bullish views in the industry. Other crypto industry executives, including Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz, warned back in October that for bitcoin to reach that level, “something crazy would have to happen.”
